About Helen

As a young child, Helen and her family were forced into hiding to survive a worn torn Europe. When her father went to get food for his family, he never returned. Her mother worked many jobs to try and earn enough to support her children, but to no avail. Helen ended up living and growing up in an orphanage. Helen recalls with heartache the trials of growing up in an orphanage: feeling alone, hungry, and cold all the time. Tenderly, she recalls an “Angel” in the orphanage, a sweet teacher who mended the clothes. This “Angel” allowed Helen to sit with her while she worked and ultimately planted the seeds of Helen’s love of sewing.

Helen was allowed to use the sewing machine (without thread) to trace patterns on paper. Eventually skilled enough, she got to work sewing at the orphanage. As a teenager, she was granted the opportunity of getting formal training in a Sewing Design School.

As a young adult, Helen moved to New York with her new education and hope for a new life. She landed a job with the prestigious Christian Dior. She made a career at Dior and designed wedding dresses, made patterns, and sewed all manner of designer clothing for many, many years.

She married and had four beautiful children.

Always apt to appreciate all the beauty around her, she fell in love with the mountains of Utah while vacationing and decided to make it her new home. It is here, in her workshop, where Helen lovingly designs and creates the most beautiful custom blessing and christening gowns you'll ever see.
